Arctic live 2016 LIVE EVENT HERO

7 Mar 2016 - 17 Mar 2016

AXA Arctic Live 2016

Running for a third year from the northernmost research community in the world, Arctic Live linked students from more than 100 schools in 16 countries with polar educators via 101 Skype meetings and three Periscope sessions. Older students had the chance to find out what it’s like to work in extreme environments and how the life a marine biologist looks like directly from scientists in the UK.

Together with Aberystwyth University researchers we went abseiling 45 meters down a ‘moulin’ into a glacier. Through daily updates, photospheres and 360-degree videos, participants got a sense of the expedition which investigated the meltwater channels inside the Arctic glaciers.
