- Dr. Thomas Hildebrandt (Germany) Professor/Department Head, Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research (IZW)
- Dr. Paula Kahumbu (Kenya) Chief Executive Officer of Wildlife Direct, Order of the Grand Warrior Award
- Dr. Sam Wasser (USA) Director, Center for Conservation Biology, University of Washington
Preparation
The best way to prepare for this live lesson is to watch The Last Animals Documentary. The film is available for streaming via GOOD DOCS. Session outline
1. Introduction (10 mins)
The live lesson will start with an introduction by the host, Bella Lack, who will explain the format of the live lesson, online house-keeping and then each of the panellists will introduce themselves. Bella will also talk about the importance of Earth Day on this 50th anniversary.
2. The illegal wildlife trade (10 mins)
Bella will then ask each of the panellists to describe briefly the illegal wildlife trade and how their work is helping to tackle it.
3. Q&A Session (20 mins)
Bella will then direct questions that have been submitted in advance and also those submitted live to the panel.
