Meet a conservation scientist

Students will meet a conservation scientist working on the Ader’s duiker captive breeding programme. Over three segments, the live lesson will feature a structured chat about the scientist’s background, values, and passions. They will also share how they managed to get their amazing job. Classes will then be shown around their work place, and finally, be able to ask their own questions.

‘Meet live lessons’ are designed to introduce children to inspiring role models from all walks of life. The emphasis here is on the very human aspect of their work, how their career unfolded, their passions, and the values they feel are important. The ‘show and tell’ section of the live lesson will allow children to get a sense of what a typical day is like for a conservation scientists, with a diary activity an example output
