Digital Explorer’s new platform won the second prize in the ‘Opening the world of knowledge’ category at the Nominet Internet Awards.
In April 2010, Digital Explorer launched its new online Academy, which marks a steep change in the way young people can learn about the world, by connecting young people with expeditions. The Academy provides young people internationally with the chance to interact in real-time with expeditions around the world; develop key web and digital media skills; and ultimately grow to become truly global citizens.
Building on the success of the Best Practice Challenge over three years, the Nominet Internet Awards are aimed at UK companies, charities, individuals and other public and private sector organisations who are making a difference on, or through the Internet.
