Teenagers in London and Brussels had first hand access to the life of refugee students from Syria. Over three months, 13 to 15-year-old students from London and Brussels paired with Palestine refugee students in Damascus to explore what quality education means to them. They surveyed their peers and created their own advocacy projects to improve education for all.
The need for safety to study, improving the school environment, and having future work opportunities were common concerns the students shared over their three Skype conversations.
The exchange between the Palestine School in Damascus Oaklands School in London were featured on a BBC broadcast who gave them the chance to meet the British Secretary of State for International Development, Justine Greening.
