Explore Lady Elliot Island using Google Maps

Lady Elliot Island is one of only three island resorts on the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. The island is located within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park in the highest possible classification of Marine National Park Zone by GBRMPA. This means that the island's waters are teeming with live corals and marine life.

The island's most renowned underwater residents are a population of up to 400 Manta Rays, however while we were conducting our survey we were lucky enough to be visited by some old sea turtles too. Truly a great place to dive!

Coral Oceans

These resources for ages 11-14 are based on the journeys undertaken by science teams taking part in the XL Catlin Seaview Survey expeditions. Starting with the Great Barrier Reef in 2012, these expeditions seek to create a baseline survey of the world's reefs as well as more in-depth research on the deep reef lying between 30m and 100m.
