Schools in London are linking up with pupils in Syria to better understand the difficulties of life in a conflict zone. Children at Oaklands School in Bethnal Green are using Skype to exchange experiences with peers at the Palestine School in Damascus. Oaklands pupil Hafsa, 14, said: “I respect them so much. They want to go to school everyday regardless of the risks”. Palestine refugee Eliya, 14, who lost her father in the Syrian conflict, said: “I feel like I’m building my future”. Bow School is also taking part in this three-month project by UN Relief and Works Agency and London company Digital Explorer.
