The Mexican barrier reef

With over 3000 cenotes (sea caves) and the second largest natural reef in the world (the Mesoamerican Reef), Mexico is a hugely popular destination for scuba divers and is a critical area for the XL Catlin Seaview Survey team to record. The coral reef's of this region are so critical that one particular area - Sian Ka'an Biossphere Reserve - is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
