AXA Arctic Live 2015
For a second year, the event brought this extreme environment closer to classrooms from three continents through 67 live virtual trips, daily news from the Arctic and 360-degree multimedia. Thousands of students linked up live with polar scientists that have worked in the Arctic.
This direct access to this fast-changing environment was meant to inspire and ignite young people’s curiosity for science and exploration. The event was featured on NBC Weekend Today and The Guardian, reaching an estimated viewership of almost 10 million globally.

The whole experience from when we first heard about it has been very exciting. Before the actual call the students researched Svalbard and added the newly learned facts to our list. As they were learning, they began creating questions about what they would like to find out that they couldn't find online. Then as the daily emails with photos and write ups began arriving, more questions were created based on this information. Very neat experience on the actual day of the call to think we were Skyping with someone in the Arctic, a place most of us will never get to visit.
