The British Antarctic Survey (BAS) delivers and enables world-leading interdisciplinary research in the Polar Regions. A part of the Natural Environment Research Council, BAS conducts polar science to enable a better understanding of global issues.
BAS, via the Arctic Office, supports Arctic Live by hosting the world’s most northerly lessons team at its UK Arctic Research Station on the remote island of Svalbard in the Norwegian Arctic. Its scientists and staff have brought Arctic exploration and science to hundreds of thousands of students around the world.
