In its fourth year, Arctic Live brought the science and wonder of the frozen north closer to 10,300 students worldwide. This year, the expedition team investigated the Austre Brøggerbreen glacier. Inside the ice cave, researchers scanned the walls and observed the changes, from 'hobbity' sections that required a bit of crawling, to wider open chambers, all shaped by water rushing through in the summer.
The team created a real-time expedition experience through a series of social media updates, videos and photography to capture the beauty and science of the frozen north. The live education journey included 115 lessons via Skype and Hangouts Meet with polar educators and scientists researching vital data on environmental change.
