How is life connected on the reef?
The first four live lessons have focused on the coral animal and reef habitat. Now, we look at all kinds of different living things and think about how they are connected. Students and families will meet parrotfish, turtles and sharks among other creatures, and connect them all in a food chain mobile.
The live lesson will review this activity and look at a whole range of amazing reef life.
Remember that questions and shout outs can be submitted up to 24 hours in advance for booked lessons via your user profile.
Preparation
The live lesson assumes that students and families will have completed the Coral food chain mobile activity.
There are two galleries that give more information about the different living things on the reef. The first, What creatures and organisms live on the coral reefs?, is aimed at primary aged children. The second gallery gives a little more taxonomic and behavioural information, and What are the different taxonomies and behaviours of coral reef creatures? is aimed at secondary aged children.
Session outline
1. Introduction (5 mins)
The Live Lesson host welcomes students and outlines the lesson. There will also be shout-outs to any students or families that have registered.
2. Presentation (5 mins)
