Ocean, carbon and climate infographic

The ocean covers 70% of the planet's surface, and contains over 90 times the carbon found in vegetation on land. Changes in the carbon cycle caused by human activity have deeply affected the ocean's health, but a healthy ocean and seabed has the potential to be a major part of the climate solution.

This gallery takes students through the ocean carbon cycle, how changes in these processes have altered where carbon is on our planet, and how the ocean can play a role in tackling the climate crisis. The slides are available as a single infographic via the link below.
