Encounter Edu is proud to be shortlisted for the prestigious Teach Primary awards’ STEM category.
The teacher resource section has individual lessons plans that are useful for teaching habitats, food chains, life cycles and also link well with geography and ecology. There is also a focus on career ideas and paths which is useful for inspiring pupils into science careers. The website also offers a collection of videos and images which are stunning in themselves but so attractive and engaging as lesson starters and resources. The website really has a great deal to offer and there is a real ease and calmness as you navigate your way through it. The section called Encounter Live has had real live camera action running through it over a 5-day period, where pupils are able to interview experts in the Arctic, or Coral regions of the Caribbean or can send in questions ahead of time to the Ask Me Anything sessions. Watch out for the next live sessions as access is free to the website. It is a very colourful and engaging way to teach and learn about oceans.
Run by Teach Primary magazine, the Teach Primary awards help teachers seek out the best educational resources to support their KS1 and KS2 pupils judged by a panel of primary experts and educators.
