Hannah Green

PhD Researcher in polar oceanography, University of Exeter / Plymouth Marine Laboratory

Role on Arctic Live

Science team, collecting samples from the back of a very rocky boat in amongst icebergs and chief whale spotter.

Most looking forward to...

Seeing the Arctic for the first time and maybe spying a polar bear.

Favourite thing about the Arctic...

The remoteness, I don’t think I have ever been somewhere so faraway.

Why fieldwork is important...

My PhD focuses on using remote sensing from satellites, but we have to go out and get cold to make sure that the satellites are right.

Marine creature I would be...

Sea angel or pteropod because they have cool little angel wings but also devil horns, beautiful and voracious.
