Lesson 1: Descriptive writing and underwater Galapagos

Students use Google Expeditions to explore the underwater Galapagos, which will lead into a piece of descriptive writing about the underwater scene.

Lesson 5: Analytical writing and Mount Everest

In this lesson students will use Google Expeditions to analyse a piece of writing about the experience of Base Camp at the base of Mount Everest.

Lesson 6: Use of setting in gothic literature

Students will use Google Expeditions to explore Gothic buildings for the purpose of understanding the setting in Gothic Literature.

Lesson 7: Drama and The Lower East Side Tenement Museum

Students will use Google Expeditions to explore what life was like in the 19th Century tenements in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.

Lesson 8: Poetry and Ellis Island

Students explore the journey of immigrants arriving into New York and assess how Lazarus presents the Statue of Liberty in ‘The New Colossus’.
