Encounter Edu has been shortlisted for the BETT awards under the ‘Free Digital Content and Open Educational Resource’ category among celebrated industry leaders such as BBC Teach, Royal Geographical Society and up and coming innovator Mathigon.
We are delighted to be nominated for BETT awards, it being part of the world’s fifth-largest EdTech trade show. For over 10 years, we have been innovating global education programmes. Having reached over 9.8 million students through our resources and live lessons, we hope to transform education, inside and outside the classroom
Encounter Edu’s platform delivers live lessons aligned to the STEM and geography curricula for the UK and beyond. The latest live event, AXA XL Coral Live 2019 reached 22,900 students from 29 countries in 5 days, with more and more teachers adapting to live linking in their classroom. Easy-to-use and user-friendly, it takes 30 seconds for users to register an account and receive free access to live lessons, 360 VR, multimedia, subject updates and downloadable resources.
The teaching resources are set against authentic work and real-world contexts. These are brought to life through innovative applications of education technologies that immerse students in the topics they are studying, from virtual reality experiences of diving in a submersible to live-streaming education connecting classes with scientists working in the Arctic.
In its eighth year, the BETT Awards recognise talent from all over the UK in innovating education technology in twenty categories that cover services, innovation, technology, educational content and individual impact. Stay tuned for results as the winners will be announced at the Bett Awards 2020 Ceremony in January.
